I wouldnt recommend them. Even if there are tee-shirts available that would say otherwise. The sands are dark, stained by pollution. Horrible things wash up on the sand, everything from dead fish to bodies and burnt out cars. Every morning as the sun rises you can see the department of public works trucks cruising the dunes to remove the worst debris.
The boardwalk isnt much better. From the fishmarkets to the bars you can hear about a dozen languages and see people of all colors and creeds. This is the Necropolis melting pot, or maybe wastebasket. The streets off the boardwalk are full of bars, clubs and salt smelling apartments. A sunny day at the beach is rare, most people you see comb the beach in raincoats.
The Wharfs are a dangerous place. Not just due to thugs and some of the gnarliest hookers ever to show their faces. There are ships here, some just rustbuckets gathering mollusks, others well kept cigar boats used for 'private buisness'. A few neon decked gambling boats launch from here. They will take you up an down the Necropolis waterfront for a night full of drink and cards and dice that is less than legal on land. Just a word of warning, Legal in no way means safe or fair.
One attraction of note is the boardwalk amusement park. Its an artificial island a quarter mile out in the violent sea where for just a few dollars you can defy death on the corroding rides or waste your money to be heckled by a carny on a rigged game of chance. The place holds a certain wonder to children, but then naevity and stupidity go hand in hand.
[See Domains and Locations--> The Dark Carnival, if you want to post in the Amusement park.]
The only wonder it holds for me is how it hasnt been swallowed by the sea yet.
