Hunting is likely to be one of the main things you do as a vampire when you arent directly involved in an overarching storyline. Hunts are a great way to bump into another predator, as hunting grounds are limited even in a large city such as the Necropolis.

How to Hunt:

Hunting rolls are very simple. They are always a combination of [X] Attribute and [Y] Trait depending on strategy.

Example #1:
Psycho McCrazypants the Gangrel is hungry. He plans to jump, subdue and ravage the first lonely soul he can find on the waterfront. His hunting roll would be Strength + Subterfuge.

Strength to represent his brutal and violent plan, Subterfuge to keep that plan under wraps enough to get close to someone without them knowing they were in for an ass kicking.

Example #2:
Sex-pot O'dreamy-thighs intends to seduce and drink from a victim during an act of passion. Rather than a seriese of complicated seduction rolls she will make just one. After all; she sees no reason to be subtle about what she wants anymore. Her hunting roll will be Presence + Persuasion.

Presence because she is being overt in her needs, Persuasion because she still has to get her point across, she isnt renting a billboard.

[Note: Manipulation will accomplish the same thing, Manipulation is just a little more subtle and noone likes a tease. Ahem...]

Certain things can make hunting easier or even more difficult. If you are hunting in your own territory you will gain bonus dice. If you are trying to hunt while ducking enemies, you will lose dice. Extenuating circumstances will be addressed on an as-needed basis. For now, assume a normal Difficulty for most hunts.

When to Hunt:

Always!

Basically you can hunt whenever you feel the need or have spent some blood. Your blood pool does not automatically replenish, so if you spend blood during a thread you will have to hunt or suffer a lowered blood pool in your next thread. Keep track of your current blood pool in the appropriate area lest you find yourself bloodless at a very inopportune moment.

And yes, You will get XP for each and every hunt, even if you employ similar strategies every time.

No, no no. Dont deal with this like those dead people do! Focus on the pain! This is your burning hand, this is your life!
